Fuel gelling is a known issue when fuel goes bad. The fuel ‘goes bad’ increasingly quickly the higher the ethanol content. Any remaining fuel in the carburettor bowl will go bad and gel if left for long enough. One mitigation is to stop the engine using the fuel cutoff on its last use at the end of the season, this will reduce the amount of fuel in the carburettor bowl. It’s also worth draining the old fuel or ‘refreshing it’ at the beginning of the season (as well as flushing the cooling system with fresh water). Fuel also decreases its octane over time and refreshing the fuel will help the outboard run more efficiently. Happy sailing

My gosh!! If someone goes out into nature and only takes what they need to survive bring it on… I am sure that most of the negative comments have come from people that go to the supermarket and purchase there food(meat) in a plastic container without a care… and for the other half that don’t eat meat be happy you only take what you need..you do you and I personally wouldn’t change your channel.. 👍👍👍bring in the true perspective of sailing and living off the sea…

I can't imagine why anyone would not want to see your scuba/free diving adventures. It's one aspects of your channel that makes it unique. As I'm planning an adventure to cruise the UK, scuba diving is one skill I plan to add before I go if only to check on the anchor. I always thought about it as something beautiful. You only catch and eat what you neet. No waste or anything. it's the most clean way to live. Of you buy 1 lobster in the shop probably 1 extra lobster or fish died extra for that one during the proces insetting it their. Love you channel. keep doing it.

Keep the gathering going. Your gathering has always been sustainable and never greedy. Keep it up. Those that complain may be vegan extremists but are more likely to be individuals that have lost the ability to understand what it takes to feed the world. You've done a great job but you will never never never please everyone.

i think you have made the wrong decision here. i loved watching you hunter gathering, it was a big part of what i enjoyed watching and something that i intend to do, because of the courage you gave me to do it, watching you. it is quintessentially British, you take what you eat, you provide for your family in doing so, nothing remotely commercial in what you take and nothing different to a man with a rod and reel on the shore. please please please, rethink this. be brave, do not give in to the nibys and the lunatics who eat grass an leaves. please, for goodness sake, just keep giving us the content we love so much. i am retiring (very early) in 18 months time. i have bought a 60ft catamaran, my wife and i were to set sail for the med and a circumnavigation, we have changed our plans to do a full year, visiting all the anchorages on your website first, we will be diving looking for crabs and lobsters etc, because you showed us how wonderful and special that could be. a dream. please please please, do what you love and show the rest of us how to do it. the world has gone mad.

Oh Dominic I do love you to bits! To be honest I don't really recognise that fiery, angry person you were describing. Over the many years I have known you sure I saw you "kick off" on the odd occasion (let's face it working at the F drove us to it) but 99% of the time it was justified and due to your strong sense of right and wrong. This video describes the amazing gent you are! Typically giving consideration to all your friends and followers and finding a solution to suit everyone. For me, I love all the content of Carly, Hank and your adventures on the sea and below. I think I speak for 99.9% of your subscribers when I say we live our lives virtually through you when watching your delightful channel. You both had the courage to follow your dreams. How many of us have the "B's" to do that? I am slightly envious that no two days in your lives are the same and you embrace whatever life throws your way and more often than not came out all the better for it. How does anyone get angry with you? Honestly the internet is crazy. I'm so impressed with what the two of you have achieved, what you've done, acheived and keeping Cadoha going as well as the stress you must have been dealing with has been incredible. Anyone who has a problem with you honestly isn't worth the time and effort. Still holding a hope out that at somepoint you'll be heading over the horizon :-)! (By the way If a the conn on a naval vessel can order the helmsman to "come right" pretty sure you're okay to do it too, although it's rather specific) certainly covid and many things since have showed how global supply chains are reasonably resilient but not infalable. Honestly though I'd look at it the other way, even in the face of covid the maximum we really had to deal with was a limit on number of tins of soup and people who bought a multipack of toilet roll, let alone a bidet feeling smug. I've got to admit I have mixed feelings on spear fishing, i spent a long time scuba diving over the years, most of my time has been spent appreciating the glorious underwater marine life that we have around the UK taking photographs and memories and leaving only bubbles. The idea of shooting a lobster that I was admiring really seemed pretty horendous, and didnt really want to give them any particular reason to be scared of me. Similarly finding bits of nylon line and fishhooks That said there are people who love to go out and shoot a phesant, deer or fox etc. etc. or buy fish that are produced in a much more destructive manner - fish farming, bottom trawling or scallop dredging and spear fishing is certainly much more sustainable and responsible than that but yeah I don't see myself shooting a fish or lobster in the face any time soon.... and whilst I'm not vegan or vegitarian I don't eat octapus or squid, just as I wouldn't eat whale, seal or dolphin.

Regarding the Willet Shed, a great spcae to carrying out the work. I mourn the lack of planning controls to preserve boat yards, boat sheds, these are vital waterside amenities, yet waterside land is too often being developed into apartment blocks, while the marine industry and boating need more space to store and work on boats.

Seeing you squeeze into a locker, reminds me how I've become fitter and more flexible clambering on/off/around the boat in recent weeks, preparing to launch, boat yoga doesn't need a guru, it is dictated by the things in obscure spaces that need attention. Being accustomed to boring moulded in non-slip decks I am in awe of the work involved in reonvating a teak deck. Perhaps it's an opportunity to rebed/renew some deck fittings, with trusty butyl tape.

Would it be possible to add some of the fishing, spearfishing, lobster hunting etc from your current channel to the new channel so it’s in one place? Just for easy reference, we place to live aboard in the new three years and I hope to be able to also get food in the same way. Thanks, your doing a great job

The thing that is more upsetting is the fluffy head! As for the fishing, I've not eaten meat for 35 years and fish for over 10. When those sections come on, I just skip forward and its only specifically the food prep bit that I skip (and other channels). Some people like telling others what to do when they are not the ones making the effort. I would think a better compromise would be to chapterise the videos so those sections could be easily skipped.

So you lose a chunk of your content to pander to people who have the freedom to choose whether they watch or not. That's a shame. If I don't enjoy a channel I unsubscribe. I wish you and your family well, especially after the traumas of the past few months

Torque Wrench!!! Just to reiterate. Torque Wrench. Also, Loctite or other such thread compound will prevent seizing and ensure consistent torquing of the bolts. Sometimes, manifold bolts are NOT coated with Loctite, but your manual should tell you what they want. It really helps with little fitting bolts like your end covers, etc...

This video reminded me of the time I was writing and publishing columns in my home country, Holland. Some 15 years ago. I wrote them to get a reaction. And there came many. However: Those who got very angry with you only have a fragment of Hank's IQ. This morning I read that in England a bunch of climate activists were sentenced to 4 to 5 years in prison for trying to block the M25. In Holland they blocked the A12 (among others), police take them away, they are sent home and the next day they do it again. In case you are convinced not to publish any hunting and gathering on the Cadoha channel, which I do not like as you are giving in to no-brain losers, please forward the link to that channel.

Personally I like it all in one place.... if people don't like it they can choose to not watch it. The point is you are sharing your life, you should not need to hide a part of it. TBH this catering for everyone so no one can possibly get offended is the root cause of lots of issues at the moment. We will never like or agree with everything we see and hear, doesn't mean that people are not entitled to do what they feel is right.

You can’t please all of the people all of the time. I enjoyed the foraging and spear fishing. It was one of the things that set you apart from the many many other sailing channels. That and the areas you cover and the excellent film work and editing as well.
